ARCHITECTURAL DOOR
BLOCK EXERCISE
Each student will select a unique door on Florida State University campus of sufficient architectural complexity subject to the instructor’s approval. The door will be photographed in high quality and then recreated as an elevation in AutoCAD 2D.

Each student will select four furniture pieces and create unique AutoCAD blocks for each piece. Furniture will be appropriate for a residential project, and of sufficient complexity to demonstrate mastery of AutoCAD commands.

CARDBOARD FURNITURE - CARTONNISTE
Inspired by the pioneer/frontier setting of Weasel by Cynthia DeFelice, the chair was designed in the corresponding pioneer style. The use of both rectilinear and curved shapes and forms mimic the look of wood both in log and plank form. SPIRITUAL PAVILION
Students are to design a spiritual pavilion that honors a religion/belief selected in class. This is a space that is visited by believers of this faith/belief system for reflection and worship, as well as visitors interested in learning about the belief. DIGITAL FABRICATION
The overall concept "French Landscape" is drawn upon the influence of French design and nature in Savannah, Georgia. Much of the architecture of the city's historical buildings feature French influence. Throughout the city much of the greenery is overgrown and itself becomes a part of the architecture of the city. ART STUDIO SRO
Students have been asked to design the interiors of a new wing of dormitory rooms for an arts retreat center. The residents are artists (adults) that attend the college for workshops for 1-2 week periods. Development of a concept for the room will be necessary. The new dormitory is called Artist's Row. The concept for the room designed will be based on a specific artist and their work.
